Belhelvie Community Council
New website
Client: Belhelvie Community Council coveing Balmedie, Blackdog, Potterton, Whitecarins and Belhelvie, Aberdeenshire.
Brief: redesign the site, create new content, page structure and design. The site should reflect the work of the Community Council and inform the community about regular meetings, AGM and elections. It should complement the Facebook page. The group were happy to move hosting provider and use a new content management system so we developed the new site using new providers.
Actions: we researched the work of community councils, and other Council sites. We thought through who would be coming to the site, especially the local community, Councillors and Council Officers and what information they wanted to know. We developed content, pages and a new design. We wrote specific content that can be used by search engines (page titles and descriptions).
Special features: we created an upload area for publishing minutes. We ran an online survey about local transport (complemented by a paper version). The website and Facebook page use the consistient images. We developed a clear, consistent style of writing for the site and Facebook.
